Mac OS Revolution

Have you know macintosh is the luxury item from Apple. Beside the expensive, mac have an elegant body. MacBook, iMac, and Mac Pro are the macintosh family for now. Macintosh have an own Operating System called Mac OS. The latest Mac OS is the Mac OS 10.8 known as Mountain Lion. Before Mac OS be known, first they called this OS is System. After many changes and innovation, Apple replace name for they System OS become Mac OS.

Mac OS have a revolution from the first name are made. 

Mac OS 7.6
Apple began to change the name of its OS since System 7.6 made ​​in January 1997. Mac OS 7.6  is the System 7.6 was renamed. And since then the name of Mac OS was introduced for the next versions.

Mac OS 8
In July 1997, Apple released Mac OS 8. The operating system is up to 1.25 million copies sold within 2 weeks and became the biggest-selling software in the period. Mac OS 8 is very stable and then a kind of software "must-have" for all Mac user community in 1997.

Mac OS 9
Mac OS 9 was released on October 23, 1999. In this version Apple introduced the Multi User System, where each user can store their data and system settings. Mac OS 9 has implementations and better memory management than previous versions. In this version Apple introduced the "Apple Software Update" to update the OS. 

Mac OS X Server
Mac OS X Server was introduced on March 16, 1999. This is the first Apple operating system released after they acquired NeXT. File manager of OS X Server is not using the Finder anymore, but has been replaced by the Workspace Manager from the NeXTSTEP.

Mac OS X Version 10 (Cheetah)
Released on March 24, 2001, Mac OS Xv10 look modern era began and left a classic look. Built on UNIX, a completely new and different from Mac OS 9 and earlier versions. In this version first introduced the Dock for Mac OS application settings.

Mac OS X Version 10.1 (Puma)

Mac OS X Version 10.2 (Jaguar)

Mac OS X Version 10.3 (Panther)

Mac OS X Version 10.5 (Leopard) 

Mac OS X Leopard was released October 26, 2007, and comes in two versions, desktop and server. After the release of Tiger, there are more than 300 changes made in Apple's Leopard. Ranging from increased security, stability to a variety of new features for developers. 

Mac OS X Version 10.6 (Snow Leopard)

Mac OS X Version 10.7 (Lion)
