System 1.0

System 3.0/3.1/3.2

System 4.2 (System Software 5.0)
This is where the confusion occurs name. In October 1987 Apple released System 4.2 with Finder 6.0. But they called System Software 5. Finally, many are calling this operating system as the System 5. System 6.0
Apple released System 6 in June 1988. This is an operating system made more stable and long term. System 6 was able to run rapidly and be able to run Floppy Disk with only 300-400 MB RAM only, leaving plenty of RAM to run other applications.
System 7.0/7.5/7.5.3
On May 13, 1991, Apple released the systems 7.0 with significant changes. Adding a variety of new applications, improved stability and new features.
